Sopa Fine Arts is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new paintings by Rose Braun.
Through a unique combination of oils and acid, and various methods of distressing her metal canvases, Okanagan artist, Rose Braun produces loosely woven, abstract fields of reflective surfaces that seem to take us from order to disorder, all the while, engaging the viewer with its subtle beauty. The random areas of organic references seem more carefully restrained in this body of work, allowing a strong aesthetic sense of color and balance to play a more dominant role. The result is calmer, open planes, with smaller bits of information, almost tucked away, and never overwhelming. What makes Braun's work so appealing is that she always manages to celebrate simple beautiful surfaces, while exploring life shifts, moving along, sometimes forward, sometimes back and many times sideways.
