FLOTSAM – Alain Attar, Bill Gingles & Kristine Paton group exhibition

Sopa Fine Arts Gallery is pleased to announce a showing of new works by Alain Attar, Bill Gingles and Kristine Paton.
Attar's artwork verges on minimalism, using a controlled color palette while choosing to explore texture and contrasts without distraction. In contrast, Gingles paintings are a seemingly chaotic swirl of color and brush sweeps, from which emerge loose floral motifs and an almost brogue pattern. Yet within the chaos, a harmony of sorts, seems to settle in comfortably, almost effortlessly. Paton's paintings depict abstract blocks and wedges of color, while selectively detailing the finer areas on her canvases. The result appears almost architectural, using lines punctuated with the occasional collage or scraping for effect. Regardless of their technique and depictions, these artists are sure to encourage viewers to take a closer look, wanting to discover and share the journey.
This show at Sopa Fine Arts Gallery will run the month of October, with the opening night First Thursday, October 7 from 7-9pm.
