Artist Statement
'The landscape, or in this series, the abstracted landscape, is the content focus of this new group of paintings for sopa. The western landscape contains an endless source of inspiration for me. I have chosen here to imagine a timeless interplay of shapes and colors that could have been viewed in the warm light of the morning or evening in the springtime. The scenes imagined show an untouched world before it is carved up of disfigured by the machines of the last century. The last remaining patches of snow or light could be metaphors for a disappearing season in the midst of renewed spirit.'
